Waterloo Road spoilers follow.
Waterloo Road has revealed a sinister death threat to the school, in the new trailer for the upcoming series 15.
The latest batch of episodes will be released on BBC iPlayer on Tuesday, February 11 at 6am, with episode one airing on BBC One at 9pm that day.
In the latest series, EastEnders star Lindsey Coulson joins the cast as new headteacher Dame Stella Drake, whose strict methods are unpopular with students and parents alike.
The BBC has now released a new trailer for Waterloo Road ahead of next week’s launch, and with the school community still reeling from recent events, it appears that there is more danger ahead.
In the new clip, deputy headteacher Joe Casey says to the other staff members: “We’ve just received a pretty nasty death threat”.
It hasn’t been revealed what this threat is related to, but later in the trailer, Joe is seen frantically responding to what he describes as a “code red situation”.
While things look bleak for the school, there is also a visit from the show’s first headteacher Jack Rimmer, with Jason Merrells reprising his role for the first time since 2008.
Jack is back living in Manchester, having retrained as a counsellor after leaving the world of education. As he returns to his old workplace and reunites with former pupil Donte, he remarks: “I thought things were bad in my day… sounds like it’s got worse”.
Meanwhile, in the last series, Tonya began to experience debilitating pain, with symptoms which she and her mum believe relate to endometriosis.
It appears that Tonya’s struggles will continue in upcoming episodes. The new trailer shows her crying in class, and she says: “I’m in absolute agony. I just need something stronger.” Will she finally get the help she needs?
Elsewhere, new student Ashton causes trouble for Donte when he finds out his true identity. Plus Libby’s relationship with Jared continues to flourish, but those around her begin to have concerns about her boyfriend.
Waterloo Road airs on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
