Google has said that it will introduce a fresh "package monitoring" feature to Gmail to let users follow their packages that are due straight from the inbox.

Therefore, when it's released it won't be necessary to open your confirmation emails for orders to find out the date when your package is scheduled to arrive.

Instead, the information will appear below the name of the email's sender and subject line within the email inbox.

Additionally, you'll notice a truck-like icon, followed by text that indicates the status of your order as well as the delivery date.
