A Fight Turns Really Bad
This terrible event happened outside a train station called Fortitude Valley on July 11th, which was a Monday. Cameras recorded the moment when two groups of people started arguing. The argument got worse and worse until it became a big fight. At around 4 in the morning, the fight got really bad and Lauie Tagaloa got hurt really badly.
While the fight was happening, Lauie was pushed back and hurt. Someone who saw everything tried to help him, but it was too late. Lauie couldn’t survive his injuries, and he passed away right there. This made a lot of people really sad because a young person lost their life.
Police Acted Quickly
The police didn’t waste any time. They wanted to make sure justice was done. So, they caught the person they thought was responsible for hurting Lauie. This guy, Seyram Kwami Djentuh, had to go to a special court where they decide what should happen to him. Even though he didn’t ask to be let out of jail, the process to find out what happened is starting.
There are also two more young people, a 20-year-old and a 21-year-old, who are being looked at by the police. They’re helping the police with their investigation, which means they’re telling the police what they know. But right now, nobody has officially said they did anything wrong.
